<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council Tuesday, May 15, 1956 2 P.m. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present: <br />Salverda, Carlson, Kitts, Hammersten, and McGee. Attorney Robert Gearin and <br />E. C. Bather, Village Engineer were also present. <br /> <br />Carlson Moved, Salverda Seconded the minutes of the May 1st, May 4th, and <br />lvíay 8th meetings be approved as presented. Roll Call Ayes {$)"ayes (o)/! <br /> <br />A letter from the Ramsey County Legislative Research Committee stated there <br />will be a general hearing regarding Police Protection and Administration of <br />Justice scheduled for ~ 24, 1956 at 7:00 p.m. <br />McGee MOved, Carlson Seconded Police Chief ~ond Goneau, Justice Martin <br />Graf, and Constable N. C. Nelson be authorized to attend the meeting as <br />representatives of the Village. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />A letter from Bill Pinotti of 44, Minnesota requested an inspection of a <br />dwelling at 446 Minnesota which in his ¡,pinion involves a hazardous situation. <br />Carlson Moved, Hammersten Seconded the building inspector check into the matter <br />and report back at the next regul~ Council meeting. Roll Call Ayes (5)-1~aJ"es (0). <br /> <br />A letter from Mr. Gearin stated that after gathering the necessary data <br />requested· 'by the Council at the May 1st meeting in regard to preparing <br />-a reso1uticm granting permission for Mr. Collis to build on a swventy <br />foot lot, Mr. Collis withdrew his request. <br /> <br />Elling Nursery submitted by letter an estimate for landscape planting of <br />the new liquor store in the amount of $451.00. Elling's letter will be <br />kept on file for future consideration.. <br /> <br />Request with- <br />drawn <br /> <br />Landscape <br />estimate filed. <br /> <br />Insurance <br />Specifications <br /> <br />McGee Moved, Selverda Seconded the clerk be authorized to distribute <br />insurance specifications to all interested insurance agents and have <br />them get their proposals back by June 1st so they may be tabùlated by <br />the June 5, 1956 Council meet1ng--also if' insurance agents have any <br />questions they ~ notify the Counci1. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />J. L. Bettendorf submitted a letter telling of his appraisal qualif- <br />ications which the Council will have filed for future consideration. <br /> <br />The City and County Detention and Workhouse Facility Commission has voted ezoning <br />a site near Dale Street and Larpenteur Avenue as their choice for const- <br />ruction of a juvenile detention home. The property in question is zoned <br />farm-residential. The Commission has requested by 1etter to have the <br />property rezoned to Class C for institutional lodges and home use. <br />Carlson Moved, McGee Seconded the Clerk be authorized to notif'y the above <br />that their prpposal has been accepted, subject to submittance of a certif- <br />icate of abstract-";'also the matter has beem referred to the Pltmning <br />Commission. Roll Call J.:s'es (J)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />A letter from the Judge of the Municipal Court of Roseville stated that <br />he has appointed Helen W. Sinna as Clerk of Court and, recommended the <br />starting compensation of said Clerk be not less than $1.40 per hour, with <br />consideration being gi van to periodic me:Di t increases as they are warranted <br /> <br />
