Garage Proposal for Dennis Born, 669 W. Belmont lane, Roseville
Many, if not most, of the houses built during the 1950's
had single car garages. Since that time, the two car family
has become the rule rather than the exception.
Our home is built into a bank with a single car "tuck -
under" garage. Unfortunately, because of the hilly nature of
our property, we cannot access a garage if we build at the rear
of our house.
We propose to build a second garage into the bank along
side of the existing one. Because the existing garage is very
low (accommodating only a six foot, six inch door), we would
like to extend the garage addition forward by thirteen feet.
This will eliminate two existing problems. It will allow the
installation of a seven foot tall garage door; this height is
necessary to garage our pickup true::. It will also provide
inside storage and greater security for some personal items
presently stored outside.
The neighborhood would benefit from our proposal by getting
our cars, now parked in the driveway and on the street out of
necessity, into the garage.
