HEAD APPROVAL. <br />Hearings Administration k/ k <br />ITEM NO.: I ITEM DESCRIPTION' Metropolitan Recovery Corporation request MGR. REVIEWED/RECOMMENDS: <br />6-1 for amendment to the zoning code. -2) <br />The Planning Commission, at ;its October 3 meeting, unanimously recommended <br />approval of Metropolitan Recovery Corporation's request for amendment to <br />the zoning ordinance to include as a special use in the I-2 district: <br />The collection, processing, treatment and distribution of <br />industrial wastes consisting of metal compounds, solutions <br />and sludges, and organic and inorganic liquids, but not <br />reactive or radioactive materials, as regulated by local, <br />County, and State agencies. <br />The exclusion of reactive and radioactive materials was added to the <br />proposed amendment by the Planning Commission. After reviewing the <br />addition, the applicant has requested that "reactive" be deleted, <br />since the facility will handle some materials classified as "reactive", <br />and be replaced with "explosive". <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESI"ED: Motion .approving/denying Metropolitan Recovery <br />Corporation's request for amendment to the zoning <br />ordinance to :include as a special use in the I-2 <br />district: <br />The collection, processing, treatment and distribution <br />of industrial wastes consisting of metal compounds, <br />solutions and sludges, and organic and inorganic liquids, <br />but not reactive or radioactive materials, as regulated <br />by local, County and State agencies. <br />NOTE: Dick Nowlan, Attorney representing Metropolitan Recovery, is now requesting <br />the hearing be continued until November 13, 1984, because they have not been <br />able to meet with adjoining; property owners (per Planning Commission <br />recommendation). <br />
