He has applied for permission under the <br />Shoreline Zoning Ordinance to construct an artificial shoreline contiguous <br />toa portion of the shoreline of Langton Lake on the westerly side of his <br />`. <br />property._The proposed construction, if completed, will result in <br />approximately a twelve inch high wooden post wall creating a:. straight <br />shoreline (perpendicular to County Road C-2) and extending the 'shoreline <br />` <br />westerly into the lake.a distance varying from 2.6 inches to nine feet. <br />Attached is a copy of a statement submitted by Mr. McCarty and copies of <br />three drawings submitted by him illustrating his proposal. Also attached <br />='r <br />is;a_copy of an air photo indicating the proposed shoreline extension and <br />the prope'rty.lines delineating his parcel. <br />2. The construction proposed has begun, and is now partiallycompleted. The <br />work was stopped by the City's Building Inspector upon complaints issued <br />bg' . neighbors . <br />The' construction proposed is prohibited by the Shoreline Zoning Ordinance <br />under Section 19.100 (1) (c) <br />"All <br />structures except boat houses, piers, and docks shall <br />be set back from the normal nigh water line 75 feet. <br />The .proposed.wall is considered a structure and similar walls have been <br />disapproved":upon application in,the past on Lake Owasso. <br />3: A variance to these regulations can be applied for under Section 18.260 <br />-' <br />of the Shoreland Management Ordinance.
