<br />Fire Chief, Herb Lynch, requested permission of the Council to authorize him <br />to allow three firemen to attend Sl annual convention scheduled for June ll, 12, <br />and 1.3, at Alexandria, Minnesota. <br />. Carlson Moved, Sa1verda Seconded the Fire Chief be authorized to allow three <br />firemen to attend the convention and be compensated at the rate of $15.00 <br />each per day plus living expenseà not to exceed a totaJ. of $200.00. . <br />Roll Call Ayes (4)-N~es (0). <br />The fire chief also diseussed Civil Defense. <br /> <br />CarMon Moved, Kitts Seconded the tire Department be allowed to use one fire <br />truck in the Ipt:iJn.ist Club Parade scheduled for June 2, 1956" if the parade <br />is held in Roseville. Ron Call Ayes (4)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />A letter from Police Chief, Ray Goneau, stated that one of the Police Officers <br />has asked him for a six month leave of absence effective June I, 1956. Mr. <br />Goneau requested permission to hire a man to replace the man going on leave and <br />to add one additiona1 man to help ease the early morning shift which is from <br />2:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Two applicants were listed in the letter. <br />Kitts Moved, McGee Seconded the matter be tabled to the neJlt meeting. <br />Roll Call Ayes (4)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Mr. Woon and Mr. Peterson of Loca1 49 and the Council members examined the Loea1 #49 <br />proposed resolution establishÚ1g working conditions, wages, ami hours for the <br />street maintenance department employees. <br />Carlson Moved, Kitts seconded the resolution be adopted as presented to include <br />a payroll increase effective June 1, 1956. Roll Call Ayes {l)-Nayes (3)- <br />~Kitts, McGee, and Sa1verda opposed. Mr. Peterson stated an adjustment panel <br />will be appointed in the very near future to resolve the di£ferenees 'b~en <br />the Council and the Union. <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Continued meeting Monday, ~ 21, 1956 7:30 p.m. <br />The Village Council met on the above date as a continuation of its regular <br />meeting of Tuesday, May 15, 1956 with the following members present. Salverda, <br />Carlson, Kitts, and McGee. Robert Gearin, Village Attorney and E. C. Bather, <br />Village Engineer were also present. Hammersten - absent. <br /> <br />Mr. Fleming of Fleming and Stromer appeared before the council requesting <br />permission to1:nilci on a 60 foot lot at 1741 ChatfN)rth which was previously <br />l.ccepted by the Village. <br />Carlson Moved, Salverda Seconded permission be granted to Mr. Fleming under the <br />condition that provisions of the building code are lived up to and subject to <br />veri£ication of records showing acceptance of the above property. <br />Roll Call Ayes (4)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Mr. otto Posther submitted to the Council a letter asking permission to build <br />on a 60 foot by 160 foot lot, not previously accepted by 'the Village. <br />Salverda Moved. Carllson Seconded permission be granted to Mr. PoSher to build <br />on 'the above size lot providing the building ciade requirements are met with. <br />Roll Call Ayes (4).Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Vil1a.ge Engineer, E. C. Bather submitted an interim report on the present <br />status of the Street Maintenance and Repair Departmen't with recommendations <br />for the immeè.iate requirements and operations.
