1 City of Roseville 2 ORDINANCE NO. ____ 3 4 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING 5 TITLE 8, SECTION 801.10 6 7 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 8, SECTION 801.10 OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY 8 CODE TO ELIMINATE THE REQUIREMENT FOR A 9 WATER METER SECURITY DEPOSIT AND ADD THE REQIRMENT 10 FOR A WATER METER FEE 11 12 THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDAINS: 13 14 SECTION 1: Title 8, Section 801.10 of the Roseville City Code is amended to read as 15 follows: 16 801.10: WATER METERS: 17 A.Meters Required: Except for extinguishment of fires, no person, except authorized City 18 employees, shall use water from the water system or permit water to be drawn from the 19 water system unless the same be metered by passing through a meter supplied or approved 20 by the City. No person not authorized by the Public Works Director shall connect, 21 disconnect, take apart or in any manner change, cause to be changed or interfere with any 22 such meter or the action of such meter. (Ord. 388, 4-22-63) 23 24 1.Master Meter: Commercial or industrial buildings shall be metered with one master 25 meter of adequate size as approved by the Director of Public Works Director. 26 27 2.Auxiliary Meters: If additional or auxiliary meters are desired for recording the 28 subdivision of such supply, they must be furnished and set up by the owner or 29 consumer at the owner or consumer's expense and the owner or consumer must 30 assume all responsibility of reading, billing and maintaining the auxiliary meters. 31 (Ord. 662, 3-13-72 32 33 B.Installation: All water meters shall be installed in accordance with the standards set by the 34 Public Works Director. (Ord. 388, 4-22-63; amd. 1995 Code) 35 36 C.Security Deposit Water Meter Fee: A water meter fee must be paid prior to the installation 37 of all meters. The amount of the water meter fee will be based on the size of the meter and 38 adopted annually in the fee schedule. A security deposit to be made by customers for water 39 meters and payment for the water meter shall be made in advance of installation for all 40 meters in an amount established by City Council resolution. This deposit will be refunded 41 when the property ownership is transferred. Remote reading devices on water meters will 42 be required expect where otherwise determined by the Public Works Director.
