<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 3/11/2024 <br />Item No.: 7.a. <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br /> <br />Item Description: Receive Presentation from Ramsey County regarding the Dale Street <br />Project <br />1 <br />2 Background <br />3 Ramsey County, in collaboration with the cities of Roseville and Saint Paul, has redesigned <br />4 Dale Street from Highway 36/Lovell Avenue and north of Como Avenue. This redesign will <br />5 include a 4-to-3 lane conversion of Dale Street to reduce the frequency and severity of <br />6 crashes occurring along the roadway. <br />7 <br />8 The roadway will be resurfaced and restriped and signals will be replaced or updated along <br />9 the corridor. In Roseville, pedestrian medians will be added at Ryan Avenue, between <br />10 Belmont Lane and Eldridge Avenue, and at Sandhurst Drive. On-road bike lanes will be <br />11 striped south of County Road B. <br />12 <br />13 Ramsey County’s project manager for the project, Luis Flores, will be presenting <br />14 information to the City Council about the project. <br />15 <br />16 More information can also be found on the project website: <br />17 https://www.ramseycounty.us/residents/roads-transportation/future-road-projects/dale- <br />18 street-safety-conversion. <br />19 <br />20 Policy Objectives <br />21 It is a City goal to create a sustainable transportation network by encouraging more efficient <br />22 use of existing roadways and limiting the need for future roadway expansion. <br />23 <br />24 Racial Equity Impact Summary <br />25 The project will improve traffic safety for all right-of-way users. Additionally, it will improve <br />26 facilities for non-motorized traffic and upgrade pedestrian ramps to meet ADA standards. <br />27 <br />28 Budget Implications <br />29 Per Ramsey County’s Cost Participation Policy, the City of Roseville does not currently <br />30 have expenditures for this project. <br />31 <br />32 Staff Recommendations <br />33 Receive the presentation from Ramsey County on the Dale Street Project. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />Qbhf!3!pg!62 <br /> <br />
