Attachment 4 <br />CHAPTER 204 <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />SECTION: <br />204.01:EstablishmentandMembership <br />204.02:Scope, Duties and Functions <br />204.01: ESTABLISHMENTANDMEMBERSHIP: <br />Thereisestablishedaparksandrecreation commission ofthecity, whichshallconsist ofnine <br />membersappointedbytheCityCouncil and which shall be subject to Chapter 201 of the City <br />Code. (Ord. 1253, 6-26-2001) <br />204.02:SCOPE, DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: <br />Thedutiesandfunctionsofthecommission shall beasfollows: <br />A.Serveinanadvisorycapacityto theCityCouncil, CityManagerand DirectorofParksand <br />Recreation on parksandrecreation matters. <br />B.Maintainan interest in andan understandingofthefunctions and operations oftheparksand <br />recreation department. <br />C.Maintainan interest in andan understandingofthecityschoolsystemandpromotethe <br />greatest possibleutilization ofschooland municipalrecreation programs. <br />D.Endeavorto secureafullandcompleteunderstandingofthecity'sneedsand desiresfor <br />parksandrecreationalfacilitiesand besensitiveto theacceptancewithin thecommunityof <br />thecurrent program. <br />E.Conveyto theCityCounciltheirunderstandingofthecommunity's sentimentregarding <br />recreation andparksandto submit recommendations to theCityCouncil onparksand <br />recreation programsandpolicy. <br />F.Reviewconditions andadequacyofcitypark property. <br />G.Providehearings togroups orindividuals, upon request,regardingparksandrecreation <br />matters. <br />H.Keep informedandconsiderallfinancialaspects pertainingtoparksand <br />recreation. <br />I.Considerpropernamesforcitypark property. <br />J.Proposeregulations forcontrol ofcitypark propertyto theCityCouncil. <br />K.Adviseandassist architecturalengineers on preparation ofspecificplans priorto the <br />presentation to theCityCouncilforformalapproval. <br />L.Represent thecityatcommunityfunctions whereappropriateandapprovedbytheCity <br />Council. <br />M.Represent thecityat meetings with othercommunity,countyorstateboards ofsimilar <br />naturewhereappropriateandapprovedbytheCityCouncil. <br />N.Perform otherdutiesandfunctions orconduct studiesand investigations as specifically <br />Qbhf!49!pg!62 <br /> <br />
