<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 3/4/2024 <br />Item No.: 7.e. <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br /> <br />Item Description: Consider Appointments to Advisory Commissions <br />1 <br />2 Background <br />3 On February 21, the City Council interviewed applicants interested in appointment to various <br />4 commissions. <br />5 <br />6 Council will consider applicants for: <br />7 <br />8 Finance Commission – two vacancies <br />9 o One for term expiring March 31, 2027 <br />10 o One for term expiring March 31, 2027 <br />11 <br />12 Parks and Recreation Commission – two vacancies <br />13 o One for term expiring March 31, 2027 <br />14 o One for term expiring March 31, 2027 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 Policy Objectives <br />18 The city’s Appointment and Reappointment policy outlines the notification and selection <br />19 process for advisory commissions. The intent to to establish a fair and open notification and <br />20 selection process that encourages all Roseville residents to apply for appointments. In <br />21 addition, the city’s Strategic Racial Equity Action Plan (SREAP) has identified diversifying <br />22 city commissions as a high impact area of focus. Racially and ethnically diverse policy <br />23 makers and advisors are key to serving residents and other customers with excellence. <br />24 <br />25 Racial Equity Impact Summary <br />26 Racially and ethnically diverse policy-makers and policy advisors are key to serving <br />27 residents and other customers with excellence. The role of appointed boards, commissions, <br />28 and councils is to advise the Mayor and Council on city policies and practices.
