Street Light Policy <br />Background <br />2003 –Current Policy <br />•Funding –Accomplished administratively with no costs to <br />•Standard light –Wooden pole with Cobra head Cutoff <br />individual property owners <br />•Procedure <br />•Enhanced Street Lighting Projects <br />•If 100% consensus of residents within 150 feet of <br />•Establishes a petition procedure and cost structure for <br />proposed light, city will install light at city expense if <br />enhanced lighting <br />the following conditions are met <br />•Development/Redevelopment Street Lights <br />•Overhead electric available and no more than <br />one new wooded pole is needed, AND <br />•Establishes procedure <br />•Intersection of two streets, OR <br />•If standard street lighting, city will take over upon <br />project acceptance and pay for O&M <br />•End of a cul-de-sac, OR <br />•If enhanced street lighting, the operation and <br />•Greater than 600’ from existing lights <br />maintenance shall be paid by the development in <br />•On a severe curve, OR <br />perpetuity <br />•At a dedicated pedestrian crosswalk <br />•Costs determined by enhanced cost minus <br />city basic contribution and included in the <br />development contract <br />Qbhf!5:!pg!342 <br /> <br />
