<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 2/26/2024 <br />Item No.: 7.g. <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br /> <br />Item Description: Consider Ordinance Amending Chapter 802 of Roseville City Code, <br />Discharge of Fats, Oils and Greases <br />1 <br />2 Background <br />3 Chapter 802.15 of the Roseville City Code regulates the discharge of fat, oils and grease <br />4 into the sanitary sewer system. The ordinance was enacted in 2018. Overall, the ordinance <br />5 has been a success to help regulate restaurants, especially new ones, with the installation <br />6 of grease traps and grease interceptors. Staff has determined the ordinance needs a few <br />7 updates and clarifications to make the ordinance easier to understand and regulate. <br />8 Overall, the changes are very minor with no major impacts to current businesses or future <br />9 developments. <br />10 <br />11 The City Attorney helped draft and reviewed the proposed ordinance. <br />12 <br />13 Policy Objectives <br />14 It is City policy to keep City-owned infrastructure in good operating condition and to keep <br />15 systems operating in a safe condition. <br />16 <br />17 Racial Equity Impact Summary <br />18 There should be no equity impacts with this ordinance. <br />19 <br />20 Budget Implications <br />21 This ordinance amendment should have no overall impacts to the budget. <br />22 <br />23 Staff Recommendations <br />24 Staff recommends adopting an ordinance amending Title 8, Chapter 808, of Roseville’s City <br />25 Code. <br />26 <br />27 Requested Council Action <br />28 Consider adopting an ordinance amending Title 8, Chapter 808, of Roseville’s City Code. <br />29 <br />30 Consider adoption of an ordinance for summary publication of the Amendment to Title 8, <br />31 Chapter 808, of Roseville’s City Code. <br />32 <br />33 Be advised the ordinance allowing for a summary publication requires a 4/5ths vote. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />Qbhf!211!pg!335 <br /> <br />
