Bench Handout <br /> Item 7.d <br /> 02/26/2024 <br /> <br /> <br />1 City of Roseville <br />2 ORDINANCE NO. <br />3 <br />4 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />5 <br />6 TITLE 8, SECTION 801.10 <br />7 <br />8 AMENDING TITLE 8, SECTION 801.10 TO REQUIRE <br />9 WATER METER SECURITY DEPOSIT <br />10 <br />11 THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDAINS: <br />12 <br />13 SECTION 1: Title 8, Section 801.10 of the Roseville City Code is amended to read as <br />14 follows: <br />15 801.10: WATER METERS: <br />16 A. Meters Required: Except for extinguishment of fires, no person, except authorized City <br />17 employees, shall use water from the water system or permit water to be drawn from the <br />18 water system unless the same be metered by passing through a meter supplied or <br />19 approved by the City. No person not authorized by the Public Works Director shall <br />20 connect, disconnect, take apart or in any manner change, cause to be changed or interfere <br />21 with any such meter or the action of such meter. (Ord. 388, 4-22-63) <br />22 <br />23 1. Master Meter: Commercial or industrial buildings shall be metered with one <br />24 master meter of adequate size as approved by the Director of Public Works <br />25 Director. <br />26 <br />27 2. Auxiliary Meters: If additional or auxiliary meters are desired for recording the <br />28 subdivision of such supply, they must be furnished and set up by the owner or <br />29 consumer at the owner or consumer's expense and the owner or consumer must <br />30 assume all responsibility of reading, billing and maintaining the auxiliary meters. <br />31 (Ord. 662, 3-13-72 <br />32 <br />33 B.Installation: All water meters shall be installed in accordance with the standards set by <br />34 the Public Works Director. (Ord. 388, 4-22-63; amd. 1995 Code) <br />35 <br />36 C.Water Meter Security Deposit Fee: A water meter security deposit fee must be paid prior <br />37 to the installation of all meters. The amount of the water meter security deposit fee will <br />38 be based on the size of the meter and adopted annually in the fee schedule. to be made by <br />39 customers for water meters and payment for the water meter shall be made in advance of <br />40 installation for all meters in an amount established by City Council resolution.
