REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
Date: 1/8/2024
Item No.: 10.j.
Department Approval City Manager Approval

Item Description: Approve Amended Professional Services Agreement with Metro-
INET

Background
Metro-INET became a separate IT joint powers authority in 2021. Previously, Metro-INET
was part of the City of Roseville and provided IT services to 43 other local government
agencies.

Last year, the City entered into a professional services agreement that outlines the
administrative services and space that the City of Roseville will provide Metro-INET through
the end of 2025. The agreement only listed the costs for the services and space for
2023. The existing agreement is being amended to reflect a 3% cost increase for the
services and space in 2024 and 2025. Under the amended agreement, Metro-INET will
pay the City $45,180 in 2024 and $46,536 in 2025.

Policy Objectives
Roseville has long valued shared partnerships with other local government entities and the
private sector to provide cost-effective and efficient services to the community. Since its
creation, Metro I-Net has been a model of partnership of providing local government IT
services in the Twin Cities metro. Once Metro-INET fully transitions to a fully independent
joint powers authority, Roseville will continue to benefit from this shared service.

Racial Equity Impact Summary
There are no racial equity impacts expected with this action.

Budget Implications
Entering into this agreement will provide the City of Roseville $45,180 in 2024 and $46,536
in 2025.

Staff Recommendations
Staff recommends the City Council approve entering into the professional services
agreement with Metro-INET Joint Powers Authority for Financial Services and use of City
facilities.

Requested Council Action
Motion to approve entering into the professional services agreement with Metro-INET Joint
Page 1 of 2
Qbhf!358!pg!413
