City of Roseville <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1671 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br /> TITLE 8, SECTION 801.10 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 8, SECTION 801.10 OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY <br /> CODE TO ELIMINATE THE REQUIREMENT FOR A <br /> WATER METER SECURITY DEPOSIT AND ADD THE REQIRMENT <br /> FOR A WATER METER FEE. <br /> THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDAINS: <br /> SECTION 1: Title 8, Section 801.10 of the Roseville City Code is amended to read as <br /> follows: <br /> 801.10: WATER METERS: <br /> A. Meters Required: Except for extinguishment of fires, no person, except authorized City <br /> employees, shall use water from the water system or permit water to be drawn from the <br /> water system unless the same be metered by passing through a meter supplied or approved <br /> by the City. No person not authorized by the Public Works Director shall connect, <br /> disconnect, take apart or in any manner change, cause to be changed or interfere with any <br /> such meter or the action of such meter. (Ord. 388, 4 22 63) <br /> 1. Master Meter: Commercial or industrial buildings shall be metered with one master <br /> meter of adequate size as approved by the Director of Public Works Director. <br /> 2. Auxiliary Meters: If additional or auxiliary meters are desired for recording the <br /> subdivision of such supply, they must be furnished and set up by the owner or <br /> consumer at the owner or consumer's expense and the owner or consumer must <br /> assume all responsibility of reading, billing and maintaining the auxiliary meters.- <br /> (Ord. 662, 3 13 72 <br /> B. Installation: All water meters shall be installed in accordance with the standards set by the <br /> Public Works Director. (Ord. 388, 1 22 63; amd. 1995 Code) <br /> C. Security Deposit Water Meter Fee: A water meter fee must be paid prior to the installation <br /> of all meters. The amount of the water meter fee will be based on the size of the meter and <br /> adopted annually in the fee schedule.A security deposit to be made by customers for water <br /> meters in an amount established by City Council resolution. This deposit will be refunded <br /> when the property ownership is transferred. Remote reading devices on water meters will <br /> be required expect where otherwise determined by the Public Works Director.
