Village of Roseville Continued meeting of the Village Council Tuesday, September 25, 1956 7:30 p.m. The Village Council met on the above date as a continuation of its September 18, meeting for the purpose of a budget hearing. The following members were present. Salverda, Carlson, Kitts, Hammersten, and McGee. Attorney Robert Gearin, and Engineers Ed Bather and Chas. Soutter were also present. Prices for hauling sewage on a tenwor~ basis to benefit the State F~ Insurance Company was discussed and it was decideä that the Engineer, Mayor, and CJe rk draw up specifications for bids so that a sewage hauling firm can enter into a contract with the Village. Kitts Moved, Carlson Seconded that sewer bonds be redeemed in tge amount of $20,000.00. Roll Call Ayes (5)-N~es (0). The Attorney submitted the name of Roselawn Cemetery for payment of $8,500.00 for an easement obtained for the sanitary sewer system through the cemetery. Also, the attorney read certain conditions set forth by the Roselawn Cemetery if the Village should acquire the easement. Carlson Moved, Hammersten Seconded payment of $8,500.00 be authorized for the purchase of the easement named and that the Clerk and Mayor be authorized to execute the necessary papers. Roll Call Ayes (5)-N~es (0). The attorney gave his opinion of a title to property in the name of Kenneth Williams. The Village Council has previously autherized an earnest money contract on the parcel involved for a sewer easement. McGee Moved, Salverda Seconded that payment be authorized for the balance of $295.00 to Kenneth Williams for a parcel of land purchased for a sewer easement. Hammersten Moved, Kitts Seconded a license be issued to Harold Caruth for cess- pool and septic tank installations in the Village of Roseville. Roll C~l Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). McGee Moved, Carlson Seconded the Engineer be instructed tocl1raw up specifications for contracting for hauling sewage prior to the date of physical connection to the sewer system and upon approval of the specifications as to form by the Mayor and Clerk, and that the Village advertise for bids to he accepted October 9, 1956 at 8 o'clock p.m. Roll Call Ayes (5)- N~es (0). The Cle rk read a letter from the La Rose Corporation requesting an increase in rent on the property which the Village is now leasing for Li~or Store #2. Ki tts Hoved, Hammersten Seconded the matter be tabled until the October 2nd council meeting. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). Kitts Moveè, McGee Seconded the Clerk be instructed to notify the developer of ,Florence Street to commence the completion of the street immediately, and that the street be completed under the supervision of the Village Engineer not later than October 15~ 1956, or the bonding company will be approached. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes \0). The Clerk read a letter from the Leage oiWemen Voters recommending that the Village Council reserve the funds accrued from the one mill levy for parks and play grounds in the current year I s budget and that they be used for the purchase of land for a civià center for t~10 Village, and further umed consideration by the Council of additional mill levies to be included in next year's budget and used for the same purpose.
