<br />Village of Roseville <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the Village Council, Tuesday October 2, 1956 2 p.m. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present. <br />Salverda, Carlson, McGee and Hammersten. Attorney Robert Gearin and Engineers <br />Ed Bather and Charles Soutter were also present. Mayor Kitts -absent. <br />***" <br />A pubJ£.c hearing was he1d on the vacatibg of the following described street. <br />Dbnlap between the North line of Larpenteur Avenue <br />and a point 369.89 feet North of the center line of <br />said L~enteur Avenue. <br />.Ñilliam Reiling presented a petition of 62 signatures objecting to the vacating <br />of DmnltIÐ Street between Larpenteur and Dionne. <br />B. H. Lol'tsgaarden, attorney for Mr. Krannak stated that the vacating would not <br />0IÙ¥ be of an advantage to Mr. Krannak, but of a great advantage to the Village <br />as it will affect the sewer lift station. <br />Oliver Kuivinen of 1725 Dunlap objected to a vacating, claiming that if one <br />street is cilosed the traffic -will double on another which w:ülù. make it more diff- <br />icult to enter his street. <br />Ed Bather stated that Highway #10 will be moved over in the near future which <br />would make Lexington Avenue less congested. <br />Hammersten Moved, HcGee Seconded the attorney draw a resolution for the vacat:ing <br />of Dunlap street stat:ing that the street will be vacated with. conditions~ and to <br />be brought up at the next regular meeting. Roll Call Ayes (4)-N~es (0). <br /> <br />A public hearing was held on the vacating of the foi10wing described street. <br />Asbury street betweea County Road C.2, and a line being 379.5 <br />feet south of said County Ro ad C-2. <br />B. H. Loftsgaarden represented seven property owners to the south of the <br />property in question stating that the vacation of the said street will create <br />a hardship on these people's future platting plans. <br />Neil Wood, representing the Centennial Methodist Church stated jiliat he and ms <br />people are interested in the street in question _being vacated so that the dmurch <br />will have a continous pröperty which could include a playground. and there would <br />not be a street to cross. <br />Mrs.> Tyson of 2923 Arona reported that the people in the area are vlJrymuchin <br />favor of à. playgrounds and that Mr. Lund ought to be commended for donating <br />property to the church. Mrs. Tyson felt that it wou]d be detrimental not to; <br />vacate the street. <br />å petition was presented by the residents of Roseville Terrace requesting the <br />granting of the vacating of Asbury Street. Reiling <br />Petition <br /> <br />A letter was received from the Planning Commission reporting that they have <br />taken up the George Reiling petition for the rezoning from farm residential <br />'to commercial of a strip 90 feet wide running about 800 feet north from Co. <br />Rd. ~ and 400 feet west of Lexington. Until the âetailed zoning ordinance <br />with proper su~ategories is worked out,. the canmission recommended that no <br />action be taken on the petition.~s~~~e1fi'~rl <br />Mr. Reiling said that the ccmprehensive plan may not be adopted as soon as it <br />is thought it will be, and that it is imp.rtant to have the decision at this <br />time so that he may proceed with his plans. <br />Carlson Moved, Hammersten Seconded that the fol~oi¥lng ~escribed( property be rezoned <br />from Farm residential to Commercial. Roll Call1yes D)-Nayes l}y McGee opposed. <br />The North 823 feet of the W. 90 feet of the E 490 feet of that <br />part of the SEi of Section 3, Township 29, Range 23, lying N. of Co. Rd. C. <br />
