<br />Village of Roseville <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council Tuesday, October 16, 1956 <br /> <br />2 p.m. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members p~esent. <br />Salverda, Carlson, Kitts, Hammersten, and McGee. Attorney Robert Gear~ and <br />Engineers Ed Bather and Charles Soutter were also present. <br /> <br />Salverda Movedi Carlson Seconded the minutes of October 9,1956 be accepted as <br />presented. Ro 1 Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />IcGee Moved, Harrunersten Second~d the min~tes of October ~ 1956 be accepted <br />as presentea. Roll Call Ayes t5)-Nayes to). <br /> <br />The matter of the proposed vacating of Asbury Street was brought up. <br />The Clerk read a letter from District #38 School which reported that either <br />Asbury or Arona would provide adequate access to the school. <br />B. H. Loftsgaarden appeared in behalf of the seven property owners to the <br />south of the street in question, 9bjecting to a vacation of Asbury Street. <br />William Mueller also appeared in opposition to a vacation of the street. <br />Neil Wood stated that the matter was tabled so that the property owners to <br />the south of the street in question would have a chance to show how the <br />proposed vacation would affect them as a hardship. Mr. Wood felt that these <br />people did not Sh011 concrete evidence of a hardship. <br />Hammersten Moved, Carlson Seconded the matter be tabled until the next meet- <br />ing in order to have a representative of the School Board at the November 7, <br />meeting to submit a legal description and dimensions of the property which <br />they have plans to a cquire for a school site. Roll Call Ayes CS)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The matter of the proposed vacating of Dunlap Street was brought up. <br />The Clerk read the attorney's opinion on the matter. <br />John Daubney appeared in behalf of the property owners objecting to the vacation <br />of Dtmlap. <br />B.H. Loftsgaardeñ appeared in behalf of S. J. Krannak v.Tho is asking for t.1.e <br />vacation of D~lap Street. <br />Mr. B. G. Benson 0:11 Dunlap Street also spoke in opposition to th¡/vacating of <br />Dunlap Street. <br />Hænmersten Moved, Carlson Seconded that as pecial meeting be scheduled for <br />Tuesday, October 23, at 7:30 by \-lhich time the Village Atto*rney, Mr. Krannak <br />and Hr. Loftsgaarden will have had time to work out an agreement. <br />rtoll Call Ayes (5)-N~es (0). <br /> <br />John.Da~bney appeared in behalf of Douglas Reea asking the Council to request <br />Comm~ss~oner Hoffman of the State Highway Department for a review and hearing <br />on the St,,:te I s proposal for closing crossovers on Snelling Avenue North of <br />County Road "B". A recommended highway plan and traffic pattern for Highway #36 <br />and Snelling Avenue was sur,mi tted. <br />Kitts: Movedf Hammersten Seconded the proposition be referred to the Planning <br />Commission or their i.rnr;¡eðiate study and recommendation. <br />Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Roger Short of B"".ni.ster Engineering submitted tabuJa tion reports on the bids <br />for Sanitary Sewer Improvement #1, Project 5, and reconnr:ended that Robert vi. <br />1'loore be awarded the contract in the amount of ~Þl97, 250 .00. The Completion <br />date to be August 1, 1957.
