<br />Village of Roseville <br /> <br />Continued meeting of the Village Council Tuesday, October 23, 1956. <br /> <br />7:30 P. 1"'1. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date as a continuation of its regular <br />meeting of October J6, and the following members were present. Sa1verda, <br />Carlson, Kitts, and Hmmaersten. Attorney Robert Gearin and Engineer Ed Bather <br />were also present. McGee - late. <br /> <br />The proposed vacation of Dunlap Street was postponed by agreement by all <br />parties concerned until the November 7, Council meeting. <br /> <br />Carlson Noved, Sa1verda SecOnded the minutes of October J6, 1956 be accepted <br />as presented. Roll Call Ayes (4)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The Engineer reported on the poor condition of the police. ambuJance car, and <br />was instructed to write specifications for advertisement for bids and present the <br />specifications to tile Council. <br /> <br />The Engineer reported that there should be a snow removal policy for unaccepted <br />streets on which dwellings are occupied. He was instructed to submit a list of <br />the streets which come under that category. <br /> <br />A letter was read from the State of ~liJLDesota, Industrial Commission, inform~ <br />ing the Council that several repairs are necessary in the Village Maintenance <br />Shop and the.t they wish to be notified of the repairs and changes as soon as <br />they have been made. The Engineer mas had some of the corrections made and <br />the memaining are under way. <br /> <br />The Engineer recommended acceptance of the following streets which have been <br />checked and found that the streets have been graded and stabilized in accer d... <br />ance with Roseville OrdinÐIlce No. 189 governing such construction. <br />N. Griggs Street beu~een Co. Roàd C and Co. Rd. C...2. <br />Judith Avenue between N. Griggs Street and Fernwood. <br />Auerbach Avenue between Minnesota AVenue and Bismark Ave. <br />Hammersten I1oved, Carlson Seconded that the Council concur with the Engineer's <br />recommendat-on and accept the streets. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Steve Zeece, Civil Defense Director for Roseville, reported that a letter of <br />application to the Hinnesota Civil Defense Direc~ is necessary in order to <br />have a bell and light system installed at the Village Hall and Ramsey High <br />School. Mr. Zeece also submitted a list of equip~ent which Will be needed by <br />an auxiliary police force made up of fifty persons. It was also reported by <br />Mr. Zeece that the Federal Government will assist in the expenses on a match- <br />ing fund basis. <br /> <br />Dr. W. R. Blomberg was present to ask permissiçm to build a clinic at 2215 N. <br />Snelling. Harnmersten Noved, Carlson Seconded De~ssion be granted to D:ç~ <br />Blomberg to erect a medical clinic at 2215 N. 'Snelling. Roll Call 4es (4),," <br />Nayes (l)~cGee opposed. <br /> <br />Carlson Moved, Harnmersten Seconded permission be granted to Ian Jahr to sell <br />Chzistmas trees at Hamline and Larpenteur under the condition that the premises <br />is cleaned up after Christ.llas so there is no chance of possible fire hazzaed. <br />Roll Call Ayes (S)~ayes (0). <br /> <br />Mr. Swanson of Sherren Street was present to ask how seon it will be before <br />he can connect to the Sanitary sewer.
