Recognition of HRIEC Commissioners <br /> Assistant City Manager Rebecca Olson introduced this item to the City Council. <br /> Commissioner Jeena Gurung Vomhof was present at the meeting, addressed the <br /> City Council, and thanked them for the opportunity to be on the Commission. <br /> Mayor Roe, the City Council, and City staff recognized and thanked members of <br /> the HRIEC for their service to the community. <br /> 6. Items Removed from the Consent Agenda <br /> a. Declare Commission Mid-Term Vacancies <br /> Assistant City Manager Olson briefly highlighted this item as detailed in the <br /> Request for Council Action and related attachments dated June 17, 2024. <br /> Mayor Roe read the term "at least 1/3"to mean the City should round up, and "up <br /> to 1/3"meaning round down. He noted the first three-year term people would then <br /> be a quantity of three, the second two-year term would be a quantity of two, and <br /> the balance would be two of a seven-member commission. <br /> The Council concurred. <br /> Groff moved, Etten seconded, declaring vacancies for the Equity and Inclusion <br /> Commission with three vacancies for a term ending March 31,2028,two vacancies <br /> for a term ending March 31, 2027, and two vacancies for a term ending March 31, <br /> 2026. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Etten, Groff, Strahan, Schroeder, and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> 7. Convene as the Board of Adjustments and Appeals <br /> a. Consider an Appeal to the Staffs Order to Remove the Fence at 257 S. <br /> McCarrons Blvd <br /> Mayor Roe briefly highlighted this item as detailed in the Request for Council <br /> Action and related attachments dated June 17, 2024. <br /> City Attorney Tierney indicated there were questions from the City Council about <br /> whether the City has the authority to revoke a permit after it has been issued, <br /> especially in a case like this, where part of the work has been performed on that <br /> permit. The answer is yes. If the Council were to find that this permit was issued <br /> in error, then it is within the Council's authority to revoke that permit. She also <br />
