<br />Village of Roseville <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Village Council was called to order on Thursday, <br />February 7 at 4:00 P.M. for the purpose of discussiing the existing emergency <br />at the Village Bar and Lounge, which developed when five persons walked off <br />the job, and Turgeon put "Closed" signs on the doors. <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br />Brennan, Carlson, Hammersten, Kitts and McGee. Attorney Loftsgaarden W&s <br />also present. <br />Brennan pointed out that he wanted it understood that a certain applicant is <br />not Phis boy·, as he has been accused. He stated also that he would not recommend <br />a person for tile position on lebruary 13th, the meeting set for interviewing <br />persons for the position.of },Ié'cYl2[;er. <br /> <br />Harry Turgeon was called to the meeting. He reported that he has had no success <br />w:ith the union today as far as getting replacements for the persons who walked <br />out on him. <br /> <br />Shifting personnel from the other liquor stores was discussed. <br /> <br />Upon being asked if he would tend bar, Turgeon stated that he didn r t intend to. <br />Carlson thought that Turgeon should be willing to tend bar in an instance such <br />as this. Turgeon pointed out that he is a bar manager not a bartender. <br /> <br />Carlson Moved, Hammersten Seconded that due to circumstances involved,the <br />present manager be relieved of his active duties as of tod~. <br /> <br />Brennan Moved, Hammersten Seconded the above motion be amended to read, <br />due to circumstances involved the present manager be relieved of his active <br />duties after the completion of an inventory tomorrow morning by Taylor and <br />McCaskill with Harry Turgeon present. <br /> <br />Hammersten Moved, Carlson Seconded the amendment be amended to read, that the <br />present manager be terminateò after the completion of an inventory tomoITow by <br />Tqlor and McCaskill with Harry Turgeon present and that he receive his pay for <br />February. <br /> <br />Roll Call on the amendment as amended. Ayes (3) - Nayes (2) - Kitts and McGee <br />opposed. <br /> <br />Roll Call on the motion as amended. Ayes (3) - Nayes (2) - Kitts anØ, McGee opposed. <br /> <br />Ról1 Call on the motion. Ayes (3) - Nay-es (2) - Kitts and McGee opposed. <br /> <br />Hammersten Moved, Carlson Seconded that John Miesen be hired temporarily as <br />~~er of the liquor stores begL'"1Iling tomorl'ow after the inventory at a salary <br />of 1600.00 per month. <br /> <br />Brennan Moved, Carlson Seconded the motion be amended to read that John Miesen <br />be hired temporarily as manager beginning tomorrow after the inventory at a <br />sala..ry- of $600.00 per month a.."ld that he be authorized to hire help on a temp- <br />orar,¡ basis at no more than the present salary. <br /> <br />Roll Call on the motion as amended. Ayes (4) - Nayes (1) - McGee opppsed. <br /> <br />Roll Call on the motion. Ayes (3) - Nayes (2) - Kitts and McGee opposed. <br /> <br />:McGee Moved, Hammersten Seconded the meeting be adj ourned.
