<br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 7/22/2024 <br />Item No.: 7.c. <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br /> <br />Item Description: Consider a request to perform an abatement for unresolved violations of City <br />Code at 1780 Centennial Dr. <br />1 <br />2 Background <br />3 The subject property is a single-family home. Current violations related to the abatement request <br />4 include: <br />5 Inoperable vehicle (407.02.G, 407.04.) <br />6 Vehicle without current registration (407.02.G, 407.04.) <br />7 Staff received a concern about unlicensed vehicles and grass in excess of 8 inches at the subject <br />8 property on June 20, 2024. Staff confirmed the violations on the property and left door hangers informing <br />9 the residents of the concerns and timelines for compliance (Attachment 4). Follow-up inspections were <br />10 conducted on June 26, July 2, and July 8 with no progress observed. A notice of a City Council hearing <br />11 was posted on July 2 (Attachment 4). An accelerated abatement for grass in excess of 8 inches was <br />12 ordered and conducted on July 8, 2024. Fees and costs for the accelerated abatement will be invoiced <br />13 and sent to the property. A second notification of Council hearing was posted on the vehicle on July 12, <br />14 2024 (Attachment 4). As of the writing of this RCA, no progress related to any noted violation or code <br />15 compliance has been observed on this property. A status update will be provided during the hearing.
