<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 7/22/2024 <br />Item No.: 7.e. <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br /> <br />Item Description: Public Works, Environment, and Transportation Commission Joint <br />Meeting with the City Council <br />1 <br />2 Background <br />3 Each year, the Public Works, Environment, and Transportation Commission (PWET) meets <br />4 with the City Council to review activities and accomplishments, and to discuss the <br />5 upcoming year’s work plan and other potential issues to consider. The following are <br />6 activities over the past year and issues the Commission tentatively will have on future <br />7 agendas in the next year. Additionally, the Commission plans to share their thoughts on the <br />8 value of being part of the commission and their experiences as commission members. <br />9 <br />10 Activities and accomplishments: <br />11 PWET scope change recommendations – Council approved changes to the <br />12 commission code. <br />13 Street Name Change Policy – Council adopted policy. <br />14 Sustainability Topics – 4th Annual Sustainability Super Meeting. <br />15 Transit Update from Met Council. <br />16 Numerous Staff Updates – Construction projects, Recycling Updates, MS4, <br />17 Sustainability, Utility Rates, Pavement Management. <br />18 Tour of the Saint Paul Regional Water Services plant. <br />19 <br />20 Work Plan items for the upcoming year: <br />21 Green to Go Ordinance: <br />22 o The commission plans to discuss this topic at the July 23 PWET meeting. <br />23 Development of Bike Plan. <br />24 Recycling Contract. <br />25 Update on the Roseville area transit system. <br />26 Public safety as it relates to transportation and infrastructure. <br />27 Pavement management funding. <br />28 <br />29 Questions or Concerns for the City Council: <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />Qbhf!83!pg!557 <br /> <br />
