and sidewalk closure on Cleveland Avenue from Rosegate to Prior Avenue <br />in place. <br />Ramsey County Ditch 4 from Oasis Park to Lake Johanna (Rice Creek <br />Watershed) <br />Tree and brush removal in the ditch will be begin next Monday through the <br />end of the month. <br />Engineering Updates: <br />o Erik Henricksen joins the team on 8/21 as the Assistant City Engineer. He has city <br />and county experience in other states and most recently was a Project Engineer for <br />the City of Chanhassen, MN. <br />o As noted below under Council Updates, on July 22 Council approved quotes and <br />authorized Staff to negotiate final cart contract. However, since Ramsey County <br />changed their funding grant policy from participating in 50% of cart costs to a <br />maximum of $100k, Council further instructed staff to wait until we get the <br />Recycling RFP quotes back prior to negotiating with the cart manufacturer. The <br />Recycling RFP seeks quotes for both City and contractor owned. <br />Sustainability Updates: <br />o Staff hosted tours at the SMSC commercial compost facility in Shakopee and the <br />Eureka Recycling Material Recovery Facility in Minneapolis on July 30 and <br />August 2, respectively. <br />o Staff attended a tour of the Ridwell warehouse in Saint Paul to learn more about <br />their recycling processes and material end markets. <br />o Staff continues Green To Go outreach and presented Green To Go engagement <br />results to City Council on August 19. Council directed staff to return before the <br />end of the year with a final ordinance draft and implementation timeline. <br />o Staff attended a meet -up with MPCA Climate Director Kate Knuth to learn more <br />about the State's climate action framework updates and how cities and the state <br />can work together on climate action. <br />o Staff is working with Parks & Recreation staff and Friends of Roseville Parks <br />Board on Tapped & Uncorked zero waste planning (event on September 13) <br />Maintenance Updates: <br />o Street and Storm <br />• Fourth right-of-way mow completed. <br />• Third sweep started. <br />• Ongoing street patching. Continuing annual crack seal program. <br />• Ongoing repair and replacement of street signs. <br />• Continued compost site turning and maintenance. <br />• Continued storm sewer maintenance repairs. <br />• Installed temporary State Fair Parking signs. <br />o Water and Sanitary Sewer <br />• Continue inspections for water service line inventory. <br />• Lead Free Roseville reporting at 87% <br />• In progress - 2024 sewer television and cleaning. <br />PWET Communications Memo Page 3 <br />Page 10 of 55 <br />
