Roseville Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission <br />Agenda Item <br />DATE: August 27, 2024 ITEM: 5.a. <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Public Works Capital Improvement Plan <br />Background <br />Each year all departments update the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for each fund the City has. The CIP <br />looks out 20 years for replacement of all capital assets typically worth over $10,000. CIP items include <br />equipment such as plow trucks, infrastructure such as pipes and hydrants, and building components such as <br />roofs and boilers. <br />The Public Works department manages 9 CIP: <br />• 403 - Public Works Vehicle & Equipment Fund <br />• 406 <br />— Street Light Maintenance Fund <br />• 408 <br />— Pathway & Parking Lot Maintenance Fund <br />• 410 <br />— General Facilities Replacement Fund <br />• 590 <br />— Street Replacement Fund <br />• 600 <br />— Sanitary Sewer Fund <br />• 610 <br />— Water Capital Fund <br />• 640 <br />— Storm Sewer Capital Fund <br />• 650 <br />— Environmental Fund <br />Staff will give an overview of the Public Works CIP, including how it is created and updated annually. Staff <br />will discuss how the long-term needs are determined and costs updated. Staff will discuss how the life cycle <br />of various infrastructure and equipment is determined and how this affects the CIP. <br />Recommendation <br />Receive update and provide feedback to staff. <br />Attachments <br />1.
