The apparatus doors are showing normal wear and tear and
staff is recommending this maintenance. This is a planned purchase and replacement of the 2005 skid steer snow blower that is in operation and has been included in the 2024 CIP budget.
The typical replacement cycle is 15 years, indicating that the current blower attachment is at the end of its useful life. It is planned to sell the 2005 model to cover the difference
of the purchase price of the new model from RTL Equipment. This purchase would be made off of Minnesota State Contract T-632(5).The Walsh Storm Water lift station was replaced in 2017.
At the time of the replacement a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) was considered but was not added. After 8 years of operating the new pumps, staff is recommending a VFD be added to better
control the pumping and to reduce intake maintenance. The VFD will allow the city to pump the pond more slowly or faster depending on the need. This will help control flooding better
and reduce intake maintenance when the pump is operated slower as it should reduce the suction which creates a lot of intake maintenance from debris being pulled into the wet well.
There is $131,000 in unspent funds in the Storm Drainage Other Improvements CIP. Staff is requesting using some of these funds to add the VFD.It was planned that the Arboretum Fountain
to have a full replacement in the 2024 Parks Improvement CIP. With onl$10,000 budgeted in the 2024 CIP for the demolition of the old fountain and installation of the new fountain, the
remaining $25,246 will be covered by donations that have been received by the arboretum and the fund balance within the Parks Im
(a)(c)
(b)(d)
Key
t
DivisionVendorDescriptionKe
Public Works
Fire Departmen
Parks & RecreationVilla LandscapesArboretum Fountain(d)
Public Works (Storm Drainage)
General Purchases or Contracts
Sale of Surplus Vehicles or Equipment
