1 City of Roseville <br />2 ORDINANCE NO. <br />3 <br />4 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />5 <br />6 TITLE 4, CHAPTER 412 <br />7 <br />8 AN ORDINANCE CREATING TITLE 4 CHAPTER 412“GREEN TO GO <br />9 PACKAGING” TO REQUIRE FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS TO PROVIDE <br />10 RECYCLABLE, COMPOSTABLE, OR REUSABLE PACKAGING. <br />11 <br />12 THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDAINS: <br />13 <br />14 SECTION 1: Title 4, Chapter 412 of the Roseville City Code, entitled “Green to Go <br />15 Packaging”ishereby createdto read as follows: <br />16 <br />17 CHAPTER 412 <br />18 GREENTO GO PACKAGING <br />19 <br />20 SECTION: <br />21 <br />22 412.01 Purpose <br />23 412.02 Definitions <br />24 412.03 Regulations <br />25 412.04 Exclusions and Exceptions <br />26 412.05 Enforcement <br />27 412.01. PURPOSE. <br />28 It is the intent of the City Council, by means of this Chapter, to: <br />29 A.Promote waste reduction in order to: <br />30 1.Lower the amount of greenhouse gases emitted during the incineration and <br />31 landfilling of non-recyclable and compostable food and beverage packaging and <br />32 non-packaging items. <br />33 2.Assist the City in reaching the waste reduction goals established by the State of <br />34 Minnesota and Ramsey County. <br />35 B.Promote waste prevention by: <br />36 1.Encouragingthe use of reusable food and beverage packaging when possible. <br />37 2.Reducing or eliminating products that create waste such as single-use, disposable <br />38 food and beverage packaging and non-packaging items that cannot be recycled or <br />39 composted and must be disposed of by incinerating or landfill. <br />40 C.Promote waste recycling by maximizing the amount of single-use food and beverage <br />41 packaging and non-packaging items that can be recycled or composted. <br />42 D.Minimize contamination in organics and recycling. <br />RS160\\1\\968900.v2 <br />Qbhf!85!pg!417 <br /> <br />
