Sathe, Attorney <br />E: July 26, 2024 <br />DAT <br />RE: Initial Cannabis RegulatoryDecisions <br />The purpose of this memo is to provide a high-level overview of the options cities will have <br />regarding adult-use cannabisand to obtain preliminary input on some questions that will be used <br />to draft the draft ordinance needed. <br />This memo is based on the information available at this time which does not include the <br />administrative rules that the Office of Cannabis Management (“OCM”) has released a draft of its <br />administrative rules. These draft rules are subject to change over the next few months. <br />I.ZONING DECISIONS – DESIGNATING ZONING DISTRICTS <br />The City can amend its zoning code to specifically allow each business type in a particular district <br />or it can choose to simply allow cannabis businesses in zones with similar uses (e.g., retailers in <br />commercial zones with other retail).
