Attachment 2 <br />1 Finance Commission <br />2 Meeting Minutes June 13, 2024 Excerpt <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 Discussion and Recommendation for Refunding Water Meter Deposits <br />6 <br />7 Finance Director Pietrick reviewed the refund recommendation for water meter deposits and the <br />8 reason why the deposits are now going to be refunded to the residents that paid these deposits. <br />9 Both the water and sanitary sewer fund derive revenues based on the gallons consumed as read <br />10 by the meters. The water fund paid for all costs associated with the meters and the sanitary <br />11 sewer fund did not contribute towards the costs. Therefore, it makes sense that the sanitary <br />12 sewer fund be utilized to make the refunds. <br />13 <br />14 The Commission discussed the recommendation with Ms. Pietrick. <br />15 <br />16 Commissioner Davy made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Barclay to make a <br />17 recommendation to transfer money from the sanitary sewer fund to the water fund so refunds of <br />18 the water meter deposits can occur in the third or fourth quarter of 2024.
