<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1.1 A bill for an act <br />1.2 relating to local government; creating the Ramsey County Economic Development <br />1.3 Authority subject to limitations of powers to levy and collect taxes or special <br />assessments and subject to statutory options of cities and townships to elect to <br />withdraw participation; expanding the powers of the Ramsey County Housing and <br />1.4 Redevelopment Authority to include Ramsey County Economic Development <br />1.5 Authority powers subject to its limitations of powers to levy and collect taxes or <br />special assessments and subject to statutory options of cities and townships to elect to <br />withdraw participation; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter <br />1.6 383A. <br />1.7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1.8 Section 1. \[383A.151\] RAMSEY COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />1.9 AUTHORITY. <br />1.10 Subdivision 1. Creation. (a) There is created in the county of Ramsey a public body, <br />1.11 corporate and politic, known as the Ramsey County Economic Development Authority, <br />1.12 that has the powers contained in sections 469.090 to 469.108, except as to sections 469.101 <br />subd. 19, 469.102, and 469.107, the powers of a housing and <br />1.13 redevelopment authority under sections 469.001 to 469.047, and the powers of a city under <br />1.14 sections 469.124 to 469.133. For purpose of applying chapter 469 to the county of Ramsey, <br />1.15 the county has all the powers and duties of a city, the county board has all the powers and <br />1.16 duties of a governing body, the chair of the county has all the powers and duties of a mayor, <br />1.17 and, with respect to the exercise of the powers under section 469.008, the area of operation <br />1.18 includes the area within the territorial boundaries of the county. <br />1.19 (b) Except as to 469.1082 subd. 5, Ssection 469.1082, does not apply to the county of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />
