1 EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />2 CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />3 * * * * * * * * * * * <br />4 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />st <br />5 Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 21 day October, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. <br />6 The following members were present: and the following were absent: <br />7 Member _____ introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />8 RESOLUTION No. <br />9 RESOLUTION APPROVING PUBLICATION OF AN ORDINANCE <br />10 SUMMARYOF ORD NO. _____ CREATING TITLE 4, CHAPTER 412 <br />11 OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE <br />12 WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Roseville, on October 21, 2024, adopted Ordinance <br />13 No. _____; entitled “AN ORDINANCE CREATING TITLE 4, CHAPTER 412 ‘GREEN TO GO <br />14 PACKAGING’ TO REQUIRE FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS TO PROVIDE RECYCLABLE, <br />15 COMPOSTABLE, OR REUSABLE PACKAGING”; and <br />16 WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes § 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in <br />17 the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and <br />18 WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the following summary would clearly inform <br />19 the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance and where to obtain a copy of the full text. <br />20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Roseville, <br />21 Minnesota, hereby approves the following summary language as publication of the Ordinance: <br />22 City of Roseville <br />23 SUMMARY PUBLICATION <br />24 Ordinance No. ____ <br />25 The following is the official summary of Ordinance No. _____ entitled “AN ORDINANCE <br />26 CREATING TITLE 4, CHAPTER 412 ‘GREEN TO GO PACKAGING’ TO REQUIRE FOOD <br />27 ESTABLISHMENTS TO PROVIDE RECYCLABLE, COMPOSTABLE, OR REUSABLE <br />28 PACKAGING”: <br />29 On October 21, 2024, the City Council of the City of Roseville adopted Ordinance No. ___ <br />30 an ordinance creating Title 4, Chapter 412, of the Roseville City Code which is summarized <br />31 as follows: <br />32 The City seeks to promote the prevention and reduction of waste and maximize composting <br />33 or recycling of single-use food and beverage containers. The Ordinance creates <br />34 requirements for “Green To Go” food and beverage packaging that is recyclable, <br />35 compostable, or reusable.
