2025 Capital Improvement Plan
Project/Initiative Summary

Department/Division: Parks and Recreation/Skating Center
Project/Initiative Title: ARENA: Root Top Units(2)
Total Estimated Cost: $ 200,000
Funding Source: CIP
Annual Operating Budget Impact: \[NA\]

Project/Initiative Description:
The current RTU’s (2) were installed in 2008. One controls the West side of the arena and the
other controls the East side. The typical useful life for these units is 15 years. Once the useful life
has expired, repair costs begin to outweigh the option to replace. The units are a necessity to control
temps in the arena. Without these units running properly, we risk extremely cold temps in the
winter and warm temps in the in summer. Both scenarios can affect the ice conditions, worst case
being in the summer where we could potentially lose the ice.
Location:
Roseville Skating Center Arena Roof Top
39
Qbhf!::!pg!527
