<br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 1/6/2025 <br />Item No.: 8.e. <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br /> <br />Item Description: Consider Commission Reappointments and Vacancies for 2025 <br />1 <br />2 Background <br />3 The Council annually appoints citizens to commissions. Council has the option to interview returning <br />4 commissioners for reappointment, or make reappointments without interviewing. This agenda item <br />5 provides details regarding those commissioners who are interested in reappointment for an additional <br />6 term beginning April 1, 2025. Council also has the option to consider reappointing commissioners <br />7 tonight, or at a future City Council meeting. <br />8 <br />9 The proposed timeline is below: <br />10 <br /> <br /> Council considers commissioners who are seeking reappointment <br />January 6 <br />for a term beginning April 1, 2025. Determine if council wants to re- <br />interview any current commissioners. <br /> Council declares vacancies on various commissions. <br /> Council confirms interview dates and reappointment process <br /> <br /> Staff updates website and other materials to reflect the application <br />January 7 <br />period, interview dates and process and continues active <br />recruitment efforts. <br /> <br /> Application period closes <br />February 7 <br /> <br /> Interviews are scheduled for new applicants and/or any <br />February 19-20 <br />commissioners council seeks to re-interview.
