34 <br />35 Sustainability Specialist Noelle Bakken updated the Commission on the City <br />36 Council -approved sustainability items. <br />37 <br />38 5. Public Safety <br />39 Assistant Public Works Director/City Engineer Jennifer Lowry introduced Deputy <br />40 Police Chief Joe Adams and Assistant Fire Chief Neil Sjostrom, who discussed <br />41 topics related to public safety with the Commission. <br />42 <br />43 Member Rudolf asked for clarification on what the Crime Watch signs in <br />44 neighborhoods reflect. <br />45 <br />46 Deputy Police Chief Adams explained the purpose of the Crime Watch signs <br />47 throughout the City. <br />48 <br />49 Chair Ficek asked how the coordination works between all three departments in the <br />50 City when there is a crash. <br />51 <br />52 Ms. Lowry reviewed the City's process for coordinating problems when a resident <br />53 calls in. <br />54 <br />55 Chair Ficek asked for an update on the electric fire truck and whether the Police <br />56 Department planned to try out electric vehicles. <br />57 <br />58 Assistant Fire Chief Sjostrom reviewed the Fire Department's process in deciding <br />59 why an electric fire truck would improve ergonomics and vehicle drive. <br />60 <br />61 Deputy Police Chief Adams explained that the City is not quite there yet with the <br />62 general patrol response but is on board with sustainability. The vehicles are not yet <br />63 designed to be public safety but are retrofitted. Now, it is not quite there. <br />64 <br />65 Deputy Police Chief Adams and Assistant Fire Chief Sjostrom concluded their <br />66 public safety review with the Commission. <br />67 <br />68 Chair Ficek thanked the Roseville Fire Department and Police Department for <br />69 coming to the meeting to discuss public safety in the City. <br />70 <br />71 6. 2025 Public Works Work Plan <br />72 Assistant Public Works Director/City Engineer Jennifer Lowry and Sustainability <br />73 Specialist Noelle Bakken presented the 2025 Public Works work plan. <br />74 <br />75 Chair Ficek asked how this plan compares to last year. <br />76 <br />77 Ms. Lowry explained that she did not get through all the dollar amount comparisons <br />78 but thought it was similar in that most of the work is paving, and there are more <br />79 significant projects. <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />Page 4 of 43 <br />
