The Bobcat UTV is used year round for streetscape maintenance, right of way maintenance, special events and winter <br /> maintenance on city walks and parking lots.There are approximately 430 private hydrants that need to be flushed and inspected each year in the City of Roseville. I2024, we hired a private <br /> vendor to do this work instead of using a seasonal employee. This year we are recommending doing the same, as it is very efficient and the private vendors are experts at this work. <br /> Staff sent qoutes out to three vendors to complete the work, and in turn only received two responses back (Viking Automatic Sprinkler Co. - $100/hydrant & Escape Fire Protection - $58/hydrant). <br /> It is being proposed to use the budget amount that was intended for hiring seasonal workers to be used to hire a contractor (Escape Fire Protection) to do the flushing/inspections. <br /> The cost to perform this work is covered by fees that are charged to the property owners for the city to inspect each hydrant annuallIn 2025 the City expects to purchase approximately <br /> 120,000 gallons of fuel. This projected gallon usage was submitted to the Minnesota Department of Administration State Procurement on 10/28/2024. The Fixed price schedule was released <br /> from Minnesota ADM on 1/27/2025 contracting with Mansfield Oil Company of Gainseville, Inc.
