1 Equity and Inclusion Commission <br />2 Meeting Minutes <br />3 September 18, 2024 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 Commissioners Present: Amanda LaGrange, Alfred Chan, Gabrielle Filip-Crawford, <br />7 Prajwal Vemireddy <br />8 <br />9 Youth Commissioners: Gwen Goedken, Anica Barze <br />10 <br />11 Commissioners Absent: None <br />12 <br />13 Staff Present:Equity and Inclusion Manager Antonio Montez and City Manager <br />14 Patrick Trudgeon <br />15 <br />16 Call to Order/Roll Call <br />17 <br />18 The Equity and Inclusion Commission(EIC) meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />19 <br />20 Receive Public Comment <br />21 <br />22 None. <br />23 <br />24 Business Items <br />25 <br />26 a.Approve Minutes <br />27 <br />28 b.Administer Oath of Office to New Commissioners <br />29 <br />30 City Manager Patrick Trudgeon administered the Oath of Office to the new Commissioners. <br />31 <br />32 c.Overview of Equity and Inclusion Work <br />33 <br />34 Equity and Inclusion Manager Montez presented an overview of Equity and Inclusion work the <br />35 Commission will be tasked with during the year. <br />36 <br />37 Each Commissioner introduced themselves to each other and described a hobby they liked. <br />38 <br />39 Mr. Montez asked the Commission about their hopes and dreams for the group. <br />40 <br />41 Commissioner Vemireddy explained that a year from now, he would like to look back and see <br />42 some equity and inclusion impact in every aspect of each Commission. <br />43 <br />44 Commissioner Filip-Crawford liked what Commissioner Vemireddy said about equity and <br />45 inclusion and thought that was a hope she had. She did not want to see equity and inclusion as <br />46 separate things from other functions of the City government. She also hopes there will be <br />Qbhf!218!pg!354 <br /> <br />
