<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 3/3/2025 <br />Item No.: 7.k. <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br /> <br />Item Description: Consider Appointment to Various Commissions <br />1 <br />2 Background <br />3 On February 19 and 20, the City Council interviewed applicants interested in appointment to the <br />4 Finance, Equity and Inclusion, Parks and Recreation, Planning and Police Civil Service Commissions. <br />5 The City Council will consider applicants for each of these commissions. <br />6 <br />7 Equity and Inclusion Commission– three (3) vacancies <br />8 vacancy for a full term ending March 31, 2028 <br />9 vacancy for a partial term ending March 31, 2026 <br />10 vacancy for a partial term ending March 31, 2027 <br />11 <br />12 Finance – one (1) vacancy <br />13 vacancy for a full term ending March 31, 2028 <br />14 <br />15 Parks and Recreation – four (4) vacancies <br />16 vacancies for a full term ending March 31, 2028 <br />17 vacancy for a partial term ending March 31, 2026 <br />18 <br />19 Planning – four (4) vacancies <br />20 vacancies for a full term ending March 31, 2028 <br />21 vacancy for a partial term ending March 31, 2026 <br />22 vacancy for a partial term ending March 31, 2027 <br />23 <br />24 Police Civil Service – one (1) vacancy <br />25 vacancy for a full term ending March 31, 2028 <br />26 <br />27 At the time of packet preparation, staff had not received all the City Council members' choices for <br />28 commission appointments. The tally sheet will be provided to the City Council once all the information is <br />29 received. <br />30 <br />31 Policy Objectives <br />32 The city’s Appointment and Reappointment policy outlines the notification and selection process for <br />33 advisory commissions. The intent is to establish a fair and open notification and selection process that <br />34 encourages all Roseville residents to apply for appointments.
