200 The Commission expressed appreciation for the emphasis on, and inclusion of, specific goals <br />201 related to parks. They also discussed how the success indicators and objectives would be <br />202 measured, and who would be responsible for tracking and evaluating them. <br />203 <br />204 Finally, the Commission discussed recent projects in which staff partnered with volunteers to <br />205 complete work that directly reflected the values and goals outlined in the Strategic Plan. They <br />206 also considered how the Parks and Recreation Department can use these goals to further support <br />207 and advance community aspirations. <br />208 <br />209 c)MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS CENTER UPDATE <br />210 The preliminary assessment of the space, conducted through a feasibility study by BKV Group, <br />211 has been completed and will be presented to the City Council on June 2. Staff noted that they <br />212 will remind the Commission about the presentation once the details of the City Council meeting <br />213 are confirmed. <br />214 <br />215 d)PREPARE FOR PARK TOURS FOR JUNE 3, 2025 MEETING <br />216 The next Parks and Recreation Commission meeting will begin at City Hall and then proceed <br />217 with site visits to Reservoir Woods Park and Autumn Grove Park. Additional sites may be toured <br />218 if time permits. Staff recommended that attendees wear comfortable walking shoes. The <br />219 Commission also discussed the possibility of wearing their Parks and Recreation Commissioner <br />220 shirts for the site visits. <br />221 <br />222 5.OTHER BUSINESS <br />223 a)DEPARTMENTAL UPDATES <br />224 The Lexington Park Playground Build event had 30 volunteers who participated in <br />225 constructing the new playground. Additional construction elements are expected to be <br />226 completed soon in preparation for the opening on June 1. Staff expressed gratitude to For <br />227 Parks for their $75,000 donation, as well as to all the volunteers and Parkway Pizza for their <br />228 generous contributions of time and food. <br />229 The Roseville Ice Show was held April 10-12, 2025, featuring three performances. The event <br />230 included 225 participants and sold a total of 2,700 tickets. <br />231 The Roseville Dance Recital was held on May 3 and 4 at the new Roseville High School <br />232 Auditorium. The event featured 102 dancers, one dress rehearsal, and two performances, <br />233 drawing a total audience of 760 attendees. Staff thanked all the volunteers and dancers who <br />234 made the event possible. Chair Matts-Benson noted that the Roseville School of Dance <br />235 classes provide highly accessible, affordable, and equitable dance classes. <br />236 The Kite Day in the Park event was held on April 26 at Rosebrook Park, where 300 free kites <br />237 were distributed.
