<br />Parks and Recreation Month <br />July 2025 <br />Whereas:Parks and recreation programs are an essential part of the Roseville Community; and <br />Whereas:Parks and recreation are vitally important to establishing and maintaining the quality of life <br />in Roseville, ensuring the health of all citizens, and contributing to the economic and environmental well- <br />being of Roseville and the larger community; and <br />Whereas:Our parks and recreation programs build healthy, equitable and active communities that aid <br />in the prevention of chronic disease, promote social bonds by uniting neighbors and also improve and <br />ensure the physical, mental and emotional health of all citizens; and <br />Whereas:Parks and recreation contribute to making Roseville an equitable community by offering <br />diverse programs and services that are appealing and accessible to all of Roseville, educating community <br />members about diverse cultures and providing a gathering spot where neighbors can come together, <br />interact and build bonds; and <br />Whereas :Our parks and recreation programs increase Roseville’s economic prosperity through <br />increased property values, increased tourism, the attraction and retention of residents and businesses, and <br />crime reduction; and <br />Whereas:Our parks and natural recreation areas improve water quality, protect groundwater, prevent <br />flooding, improve the quality of the air we breathe, provide vegetative buffers to development, and <br />produce habitat for wildlife; and <br />Whereas:Our parks and natural recreation areas ensure the ecological beauty of our community and <br />provide a place for children and adults to connect with nature and recreate outdoors; and <br />Whereas:The U.S. House of Representatives has designated July as Parks and Recreation Month; <br />and <br />Whereas:Roseville, Minnesota, recognizes the benefits derived from parks and recreation resources. <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of Roseville does hereby proclaim July <br />2025 as Parks and Recreation Month in the City of Roseville. <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Roseville to be <br />affixed this sixteenth day of June, 2025. <br />________________________ <br />Mayor Daniel J.
