2025 Stormwater Update
Partner Projects
4.5 RCD2-5: MODIFY JONES LAKE OUTLET AND DREDGING
The Jones Lake Project is a critical project as it has the potential to provide a significant amount
of new flood storage. The conceptualized project on Jones Lake will lower the normal water
0.5 feet to an elevation of 891.5. Further lowering of the outlet, which would be considered an
"improvement" to RCD 2 under MS 103E, is limited by the downstream channel and storm
sewer elevations including the likely infeasibility of meeting MS 103E requirements. Design
parameters were used to keep the raised 100-year elevation at least 2-feet below adjacent
structures. The lower normal water level, modified outlet and proposed dredging creates use of
an additional 112.22 acre-feet of live storage_
Joint project between Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD), City of
Saint Anthony, City of New Brighton, and City of Roseville
Estimated project cost of -$10 million
Bonding priority of the RCWD
