REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 9/8/2025 <br />Item No.: 7.b. <br />Department ApprovalCity Manager Approval <br />Item Description:Discuss Beekeeping Regulations <br />1 <br />2 Background <br />3 During Public Comment at the May 19, 2025 meeting, resident Alyssa Prideaux asked the <br />4 City Council to consider adopting beekeeping regulations and shared her personal <br />5 experience with aggressive bees. Information about her experience and request was sent <br />6 ot the City Manager prior to the meeting (Attachment 1). <br />7 <br />8 Staff is bringing the discussion forward to provide an opportunity for the City Council to <br />9 provide direction to staff on whether the City should adopt regulations regarding <br />10 beekeeping. The City of Roseville does not have any regulations regarding beekeeping. <br />11 The City Attorney has provided examples from other cities that have regulations governing <br />12 beekeeping. (Attachment 2). <br />13 <br />14 Policy Objectives <br />15 Responsive Services and Safety was identified as a key goal in the recently completed <br />16 strategic plan.
