Public-facing communication tools to demonstrate the City's progress

In total, the scope of work would accomplish two-thirds of the projects outlined in the 2024
Natural Resources Management Plan Update.

Work is planned to begin this fall and span through at least June 2028, with the possibility
of increasing the scope and reach of the work if additional funds can be procured. In total,
the scope of work would accomplish 2/3 of the projects that are outlined in the 2024 Natural
Resources Management Plan Update.

Policy Objectives
This project advances the City’s strategic priority of Parks and Natural Environment – Goal
#2: Roseville’s natural environment is actively protected and restored. Specifically, it:
Implements the 2024 NRMMP’s vision of ecologically resilient, educational, and
accessible natural areas.
Preserves and restores significant natural resources and habitats across the park
system.
Promotes volunteer engagement, community stewardship, and educational
opportunities.
Supports the 2040 Comprehensive Plan and the City’s values of community,
accountability, equity, and sustainability.

Equity Impact Summary
The implementation of the 2024 Natural Resources Management Plan through the CPL
grant advances Roseville’s commitment to environmental equity and inclusive access to
natural spaces.
Prioritization of Underserved Areas: A significant portion of the planned
restoration work will occur in Census Tract 416.02, Roseville’s most diverse
neighborhood, ensuring that historically underrepresented residents directly benefit
from enhanced natural spaces.
Inclusive Engagement: The project integrates more than 60 volunteer stewardship
events, offering opportunities for residents of all backgrounds to contribute to
environmental improvement, build connections, and gain environmental education.
Shared Benefits: Restored habitats improve water quality, biodiversity, and park
aesthetics, providing community-wide benefits while ensuring equitable access to
high-quality natural areas across the City.
Climate Resilience: Because climate and environmental impacts often
disproportionately affect marginalized communities, the project’s focus on restoring
resilient ecosystems also supports broader community health and well-being.
Qbhf!53!pg!558
