REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 11/24/2025 <br />Item No.: 7.b. <br />Department ApprovalCity Manager Approval <br />Item Description:Hold a Public Hearing to Consider Approving Liquor License Renewals for <br />2026 <br />1 <br />2 Background <br />3 Under City Code, a public hearing is required to consider approving liquor license renewals for the <br />4 following calendar year. The City has received the following completed renewal applications for 2026: <br />5 <br />6 7 Off Sale Intoxicating Liquor Licenses <br />7 10 Off Sale 3.2 Non-intoxicating Malt Liquor Licenses <br />8 23 On Sale Intoxicating Liquor Licenses <br />9 20 On Sale 3.2 Non-intoxicating Malt Liquor Licenses <br />10 18 On Sale Wine Licenses <br />11 4 Club Liquor Licenses <br />12 1 Brewery Off Sale Liquor Licenses <br />13 1 Taproom On Sale Liquor License <br />14 <br />15 These license renewals are detailed in Attachment 1. Attachment 2 indicates establishments have had <br />16 liquor compliance failures during the previous 5 years. The Council has discretion to factor in these <br />17 compliance failures when considering whether to renew a liquor license. <br />18 <br />19 Policy Objectives <br />20 The regulation of establishments that sell alcoholic beverages has been a long-standing practice by the <br />21 State and the City. <br />22 <br />23 Equity Impact Summary <br />24 There is no anticipated racial equity impact. <br />25 <br />26 Budget Implications <br />27 The revenue that is generated from the license fees is used to offset the cost of police compliance <br />28 checks, background investigations, enforcement of liquor laws, and license administration. <br />29 <br />30 Staff Recommendations <br />31 All liquor license renewal applications have met Statutory and City Code requirements.
