<br />200 The Commission and staff discussed potential next steps for evaluating skate park options, <br />201 including reviewing comparable amenities, exploring new or alternative designs, and considering <br />202 how a skate park would fit within the broader park system and align with Roseville’s Strategic <br />203 Plan. <br />204 <br />205 Commissioner Botzek noted that the City is currently developing its first Climate Equity Action <br />206 Plan and suggested adding a future agenda item to allow the Commission to receive updates on <br />207 the advisory team’s work related to this effort. <br />208 <br />209 Commissioner Kooistra suggested that future community engagement be considered to gather <br />210 input on the open space at Autumn Grove Park. <br />211 <br />212 7.OTHER BUSINESS <br />213 a)DEPARTMENTAL UPDATES <br />214 Multiple proposals have been received from contractors for the feasibility study of a non- <br />215 traditional pathway within the Aldine Street right-of-way. Staff indicated that a strong <br />216 candidate has been identified. The project is anticipated to be completed following snowmelt <br />217 this winter or in the spring to allow for a full-scale analysis. <br />218 The John Rose Minnesota OVAL has opened and experienced strong attendance. Staff <br />219 thanked the Friends of the OVAL Foundation for hosting a winter kick-off event featuring <br />220 discounted skating, promotional items, and opportunities for the public to learn more about <br />221 the Foundation. Staff noted the event was very successful. <br />222 FOR Parks hosted its Designer Handbag Bingo fundraising event on November 8 at the <br />223 Cedarholm Community Building. <br />224 The Central Park Foundation recently held a quarterly meeting. <br />225 Cookies and Cocoa with Kris Kringle will take place on December 6 at the Cedarholm <br />226 Community Building. Pre-registration is required for this event. <br />227 The Holiday Craft Fair will be held December 6–7, 2025, with hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 <br />228 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. <br />229 A Natural Resources volunteer event is scheduled for December 20 at Materion Park, where <br />230 volunteers will assist with buckthorn removal. <br />231 The winter holiday skating schedule for the Roseville Skating Center and the John Rose <br />232 Minnesota OVAL has been published. <br />233 Outdoor skating rinks are anticipated to open on December 20, weather permitting. <br />234 A community engagement meeting for Autumn Grove Park is anticipated to be announced in <br />235 mid-January 2026, with the meeting expected to take place later that month. <br />236 Winter activity brochures will be delivered to homes in the coming days.
