A new report from the Energy & Climate Intelligence Unit looks back at <br />forecasts made following the ratification of the Paris Agreement compared with what <br />has been achieved since. <br />Study finds EVs quickly overcome their energy -intensive build to be cleaner than <br />gas cars —While it takes a lot of emissions to manufacture electric vehicles, a new <br />study finds that after two years of use, those emissions are effectively cancelled out, and gas vehicles <br />continue to produce more emissions comparatively while on the road. <br />12.000 acres of forest and wetlands in northeast Minnesota now public after land ourchase— <br />The Nature Conservancy purchased more than 12,000 acres of forest, rivers and wetlands between <br />Two Harbors and Ely in northeast Minnesota that the conservation organization plans to restore and <br />make accessible to the public. The parcels include lowland conifer forests and peatlands that are <br />critically important to carbon storage. <br />New national law in South Korea will turn large parking lots into solar power farms —Parking <br />lots in South Korea with more than 80 spaces will be required to install solar canopies and carports, <br />including both new construction and existing parking lots. <br />Wisconsin coal terminal to close after 50 years as clean energy saps demand —Due to the clean <br />energy transition, coal shipments have dropped dramatically at a coal terminal in Superior, WI that's <br />been open since 1976, and it will close in June 2026. The previous owner hopes another entity will <br />lease the terminal for another purpose. <br />Do you like this section of the newsletter?
