REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION DATE: 6/11/90 ITEM NO.: ~_ f Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: ~ Agenda section: Reports and Recommendations Item Description: Resolution amending, by substitution, the North Suburban Cable Commission Joint and Cooperative Agreement for the administration of a cable communication system. The prior resolution considered by Council involved the first step in the transfer of the community programming function. It involved a specific transfer of that function from the Cable TV Company to each of the ten member cities of the North Suburban Cable Commission. This resolution involved the second step, which is the delegation of the administrative responsibilities for the community program function from the city to the North Suburban Cable Commission. The attached resolution is being considered by all ten member cities of the North Suburban Cable Commission and will amend, by substitution, the original Joint and cooperative Agreement among the ten member cities originally signed in 1985. If adopted, the North Suburban Cable Commission will have the responsi- bility and a source of revenue to administer and perform the community programming function servicing the North Suburban market area. The city of Roseville will continue to have proportional representation on the North Suburban Cable Commission, and through it to the community programming organization based on numbers of subscribers. COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to approve/deny a resolution amending, by substitution, the North Suburban Cable Commission Joint and cooperative Agreement for the administration of a cable communication system.
