<br />VILLAGE OF RO SEVILLE <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the Village Council, Friday~ November 3 ~ 1961. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members <br />present& Mayor Cedarho1m~ Trustees Flanagan, Reinecke, and Shields. <br />Trustee McGee was absent. <br /> <br />Shields Moved, Reinecke Seconded~ that the minutes of the meeting <br />of October 27, 1961~ be accepted as corrected. Roll Call, <br />Ayes (4) - Nays (0). <br /> <br />On Page 8D under Easement 1583, it should read that a check in the <br />amount of $175.00 be drawn payable to Harvey W. Schlader, and Ann N. <br />Schlader, and the Twin City Federal Savings and Loan Association, <br />for payment of Easement No. 1583. <br /> <br />Shields MOved, Flanagan Seconded that the minutes of the Special <br />Meeting of October 7, 1961, be accepted as presented. Roll Call, <br />Aye s (4) - Nays (0). <br /> <br />Reinecke Moved$ Flanagan Seconded, that the minutes of the Special <br />Meeting of October 13, 1961, be accepted as presented. Roll Call, <br />Ayes (4) - Nays (0). <br /> <br />Shields Moved~ Flanagan Seconded, that the variCl'1ce to the zoning <br />ordinance requested by the Texaco Company, for a sign at 2717 <br />Lexington Avenue North, be denied, as it does not meet the Village <br />requirements. Roll Cal1~ Ayes (4) - Nays (0). <br /> <br />Flanagan Moved, Shields Seconded, that upon the recommendation of <br />the Building Inspector the variance to the zoning ordinance <br />requested by Mr. John Stenger to build on an unplatted lot of less <br />than two and oue-half acres in sizeD with the following legal <br />description~ West 100 ft. of N! of Lot 6, Thorntons Subdivision of the <br />NE% of Section 13D T 29, R 23, 00 granted" since it would be an undlie <br />hardship to force Mr. Stenger to go through the platting procedure <br />to plat one lot. Roll Call$ Ayes (4) - Nays (0). <br /> <br />Shields Moved, Flanagan Seconded, that the Spartan Industries be <br />allowed a variance to the zoning ordinance for a pylon sign on <br />Larpenteur Avenue which exceeds the square footage permitted in <br />the ordinance~ as it would be a hardship to force them to leave out <br />part of the title of their store II but that t,he height of this sign <br />be within the 35 foot !T1.B.ximu.l!l requirement of the ordinance. Roll Call" <br />Ayes (4) = Nays (0). <br /> <br />Flanagan Moyed" Reinecke Seconded, that the Spartan Stores be grant,ed <br />a variance t.o the zoning ordinance to put the seven letters of SPARTAN <br />on top of the building which would exceed the total sign face area <br />requirement 01' t.he ordinance since it would be a hardship to fulfill <br />the requirements of the ordinance by not permitting the Spartan Store <br />to put in all the letters of its name y providing~ however,9 that the pylon <br />sign referred to in the previous motion and this sign be the only signs <br />allowed on the property.
