It was pointed out that the Village Council held a hearing on

April 21, 1965 at which time the proposed improvements were

explained and the Council heard from the individuals present.

It was moved and carried that all of the proceedings, petitions

and communications be incorporated as part of the file of the improve-

ments and that the individuals present who had been afforded an

opportunity to be heard for and against the proposals would be

listed as part of the April 28 proceedings. Thereupon, the Mayor

afforded opportunity to all present to be heard and the names and

addresses of the persons appearing and heard by the Council and the

substance of the views presented by them were as follows:

CAMERON ANDERSON, 1193 Ryan Avenue West: Does not l1ve in any
of the improvement areas but has been active in sponsoring the
Lexington School P.T.A. As a member of that committee he had acted
by obta1n1ng signatures of persons in favor of the improvement on
pe1:.it1ons.

MR. JOHN BERG, 2305 Westem Avenue North: In favor of the
improvement. Inquired re grading of streets to provide for proper
drainage. The proposed storm drainage consists of 2 pipelines
dropping into the Highway 36 right of way to be drained under
Highway 36 by an existing culvert. He asked if this shouldn't be
changed somewhat to be a pipe entrance into that culvert and that
possibly water collecting in this deep ditch will be another neigh-
borhood nuisance and cause other problems. The water then drains in
a drainage ditch to McCarron's Lake. He hoped the Council would
anticipete poSSible problems from hazards existing along this ditch.
Also had a question about when the streets would be re-paved.

1(. R. FAVYANSKE, 471 Minnesota Avenue: Opposed to the
improvement because of the high taxes.

HARRY PAULUS, 2217 Dellwood: In favor of the proposal.
Questioned whether or not the culverts and drainage ditcbes along
'the st.reet would be filled in so the water drains to the street.

2
