-lO- WHEREAS, the American system of free public educat~on is a most vital force in equipping this nation's children and youth to meet the many challenges of the future; and WHEREAS, the nation's schools and the schools of this state and of this community are essential to preserving the American way of life; and WHEREAS. a rapidly changing world requires that education change to meet new challenges without diminishing the tradi- tional American appreciation of the supreme worth of the individual; and WHEREAS. the moral and financial support of all citizens is necessary in the great task of educating young people for their roles as responsible Americans: NOW, THEREFORE, I, Emil F. Cedarholm, Mayor of the Village of Roseville, do hereby designate November 7 to 13. 1965, to be American Education Week and urge all citizens to reaffirm their interest in the aims, achievements, and needs of the schools to help strengthen and preserve this training ground of democracy. Goodrich Moved, Grauel Seconded. that Resolution No. 1368 ordering a public hearing for November l, 1965, on the proposed joint Roseville - Falcon Heights storm drainage Improvement No. 65-37 be adopted. RESOLUTION NO. 1368 Shields Moved, Goodrich Seconded, that the Public Works Director and Consulting Engineer be authorized to make a,~tudy of the Sherren Street Drainage impounding area and to report batk to council at their meeting of October l8, 1965.
