<br />Regular Meeting of the Village Council - March 17, 1969.
<br />
<br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following
<br />,~mbers present: Mayor Moll, Councilmen Linebarger, Shields,
<br />Curley and Grauel.
<br />
<br />Grauel Moved, Curley Seconded, that the minutes of the regular
<br />meeting of March 10, 1969, be approved. Roll Call, Ayes: Linebarger,
<br />Shields, Curley, Grauel and Moll. Nays: None.
<br />
<br />The Mayor made the following proclamation:
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, March 24, l!:}69, marks the beginning of the 50th
<br />Anniversary Celebration Year of the League of Women
<br />Voters of Minnesota;
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters, which was founded in 1919
<br />primarily to help. the women voters of Minnesota to carry
<br />out their new responsibilities, has in fact assisted men
<br />and women voters alike, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters has provided nonpartisan inform-
<br />ation on candidates and ballot issues prior to elections,
<br />encouraged registration and informed voting and helped
<br />generations of women understand the structure and function
<br />of governmen t; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters of Roseville was established
<br />in 1953 to this same end; and
<br />
<br />WllliREAS, the League of Women Voters, while nonpartisan in relation
<br />to candidates and political parties, has studied and acted
<br />upon many issues of government in the public interest; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters of Rosevillehas strengthened
<br />local government in Roseville through its work on such issues
<br />as: The Planning Commission, A Master Plan for Roseville,
<br />Parks and Recreation, Capital Improvements, llealth
<br />Ordinances, Sanitation Procedures and The present
<br />Council-Manager form of government
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, A. Donald Moll, by virtue ,of the authority vested
<br />in me as Mayor of Roseville, hereby proclaim March 24th
<br />through March 2!:}th of this year 1969 as League of Women Voters
<br />Week. I, therefore, call upon all citizens to give the League
<br />of Women Voters of Roseville in the coming year their continued
<br />interest, cooperation and support so that tiley may continue
<br />their program which benefits uS each and everyone.

<br />Linebarger Moved, Shields Seconded, that the preliminary plat submitted
<br />by Clara Gribble at County Road D and Arthur Place be approved. Roll
<br />~all, Ayes: Linebarger, Shields, Curley, Grauel and Moll. Nays: None.
