<br />the contractor will then go away from the job - we'll have a <br />separate contract and have to pay a separate cost for someone <br />else to move in plus the fact you get a certain amount of <br />saving on scale. Putting those two together, there seemed to <br />be a reasonable saving to be had by doing these at the same <br />time. Plus, (inaudible) if they should not be done at this time <br />this will soon exceed the 2~1o level and we would not be able to <br />bond and would have to charge more money. <br /> <br />MAYOR LINEBARGER: Anyone else? <br /> <br />MR. BRIAN JOHNSON, 2244 Marion: My question would be - if <br />this were approved, when would the construction start and how <br />much disruption of the traffic, or how bad would the roads be <br />torn up? <br /> <br />MR. HONCHELL: As far as when it would start, we would <br />probably be taking bids approximately six weeks from now - give <br />or take a couple of weeks - and construction start early in the <br />summer and be completed, we anticipate, before Labor Day. As <br />far as disruption, we would attempt to have the storm sewer <br />placed on one side or the other of the street so you would be <br />able to use the roadway. There will be some inconvenience but <br />you should almost all the time be able to get in and out of <br />your driveways. It shouldn't be more than two or three days <br />that you wouldn't be able to get in your driveways. Hopefully <br />none - but I can't guarantee that. <br /> <br />MAYOR LINEBARGER: Any further statements? Then I will <br />close the hearing on this improvement and the Council can vote <br />at this time. I would have to state that other than the letter <br />which was read there doesn't appear to be much opposition <br />which is unusual on a storm sewer hearing. I think it appears <br />the people on the high ground in this instance seem to be aware <br />of their responsibility to the person downstream a little ways <br />and I think the people in the area are to be commended because <br />things don't work out this way all the time, but I would be in <br />favor of ordering this as a part of the bigger project we <br />considered several weeks ago. <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN BRENNAN: Mr. Popovich, you stated there were <br />19 homes affected. By the map, I think I counted 22. Maybe <br />that would throw you off somewhat. <br /> <br />MR. POPOVICH: 19 lots - I'll have to look to the engi- <br />neering department. There are 19 lots and one and a half <br />acres. Your homes may be tied into the acreage, Mr. Brennan, <br />do you see the point? <br /> <br />MR. HONCHELL: Some of them have a home, but are listed as <br />acreage. <br /> <br />5 <br />
